ON THE CONCEPT AS A FORM FOR PRESENTING THE RESULTS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN PROFESSOR O.A. ZAITSEV’S DOCTORAL DISSERTATION

Abstract

Formulating author’s concept for any scientific work is the most complex and, therefore, the most important stage of research at the doctoral level. Based on the example of Professor O.A. Zaitsev’s doctoral dissertation, which addresses the problems of ensuring the safety of participants in criminal proceedings, this study analyzes key aspects of formulating, substantiating, and developing the author’s scientific concept. Purpose: to identify the rules for developing, formulating, and substantiating a scientific concept using the example of a specific doctoral dissertation. Methods: structural-systemic analysis and synthesis methods allowed for the examination of the elements of a unified concept both separately and in their dialectical unity. The historical method was used to demonstrate the specific conditions for the formation of the analyzed scientific concept and its significance for later theoretical research. Results: the article concludes that the rules for consolidating distinct elements of the author’s scientific ideas into one unified concept are universally applicable to research regarding any problem in criminal proceedings.
